Helen is the owner and operator of No Monkey Business Dog Training, LLC and All Dogs Go To Helen. Based in Concord New Hampshire, she is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge and Skills Assessed (CPDT-KSA) and a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) and a Operation Socialization Certified Trainer (OSCT). Helen has been training dogs for over 15 years. She is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a member of the Association of Animal Behavior Professionals and is a certified member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and a member of the Pet Professional Guild. Helen is also a licensed Dogs and Storks presenter, a licensed Dogs and Toddlers presenter, and a certified AKC evaluator.
Helen’s skills range from basic obedience to behavior modification of serious problems including aggression as well as service dog training. Helen is always doing one on one behavior consultations, and Helen teaches classes locally in the Concord, New Hampshire area and offers workshops and seminars on a variety of subjects all around New England. Helen is constantly going to continuing education seminars to learn more about the fascinating world of dog behavior, and she has been featured on the radio, in print, and on T.V. for her work! She volunteers countless hours at the local SPCA and works with homeless dogs to help them learn skills to find a home faster.
She has worked as a trainer for the humane society rehabilitating aggressive dogs, and helping homeless dogs find the right home. She also was the volunteer 4-H dog club leader, and taught basic obedience at a prestigious training academy in Durango, Colorado. She is educated in canine behavior and has a strong foundation of knowledge on the psychological principles and applications of dog training. Helen has both the academic and hands-on skills that make for a great trainer and behavior consultant.
Helen has six dogs of her own, a Collie named Paddington and Mallory a Papillon! Messner is a rescue papillon who is a new addition and Prudence is a rescue pitbull mix. Legend is a 4 month old deerhound. She lost her beloved dogs, Sweet Pea, also a papillon, in January 2013 and Atlas in 2016. Merlin, the dog who started it all, passed in October 2017. Helen also has a horse Noah, a cat, 3 parrots, and two daughters Grace and Evelyn. She takes great pride in her work and treats every animal she trains as if it were her own, making your training experience motivating and enjoyable! When not training dogs she is working with her own animals or spending time with her husband and daughters.
Helen has raised and fostered hundreds of puppies over the past 15 years. She knows the value in the early weeks of puppyhood and how it can significantly impact a dogs adult behavior. Also, the better a puppy is raised, the less likely they are to find themselves surrendered or rehomed later in life. By having a business solely geared towards raising your puppy, Helen can help ensure all dogs get a good start in life.
Raising a well mannered, well trained puppy takes a village. Helen often partners with local businesses, veterinarians and more to help socialize your puppy to all the things he'll need to be successful as an adult!
Helen has 6 dogs of her own to help your puppy learn about life. Prudence, a rescue 13 year old pitbull, Paddington and Rupert, 6 and 1 year old rough collies, Messner and Mallory 3 and 5 year old papillons and Legend a 4 month old deerhound. The variety of ages, sizes and personalities helps your puppy get lots of playtime but also learn about not chasing small dogs or bothering older dogs too!
Sherpa, Spice, Harriet and Tenzing are 4 cats ready to teach your puppy all about what's okay and what isn't when it comes to living together in harmony with small animals. All 4 cats have grown up with dogs and are extremely dog savvy.
Cadbury the bunny, Sequel the parrot, and so much more. Helen's house is filled with so many experiences your puppy wont get anywhere else!
That's right, your puppy even gets to meet a horse too. Exposure to livestock as a puppy is incredibly important and Noah the horse is happy to assist. Trips to the barn to meet him and other horses and livestock are included in your puppy's stay!
Grace and Evelyn, 9 and 2, are Helen's daughters who help your puppy get socialized to children and also learn about too much mouthing, gentle play and not jumping up!
Whether Helen, Jake, Grace or Evelyn. we treat your puppy as a part of our family and cant wait to have them stay with us!!
